In Gujarat and Rajasthan
The bride is gifted with lovely Ivory Bangles by her mother. That is so auspicious that the bridal coupal can perform other rituals after that only. The bangle wearing ceremony is considered very important for the bride. It is a symbol for her getting married similar to bindi and lehanga.
It is a festival to eyes when another ritual is does by putting Bangle (Kada) known as ‘kalire‘ or tinkling bells. Similar to bengali women's bangles, Punjabi women also wear Ivory bangles famous for it's design and design with white and res stones in multiples of four known as “Chuda”. Mother is the most happy person to gift this chuda to the gonna-be Married woman.
It is mandatory in most of the punjabi communities for the bride to wear that Bangle for atleast 1 year. It may vary upto 15 months for some. It is considered a auspicios and must-do ritual in Punjabi marriages always held on the morning of the wedding day.

Bengali and Odiya women are still using the accessories which symbolize marriage are the most powerful expressions in Indian Hindu culture and tradition. Symbols like Kumkum (sindoor), shanka, toe rings depicts our culture and tradition. Conch-shell is used to make bangles which are white in color and red corals for making bangles of red color. The ladies at that time used to wear shankhas made up of elephant teeth.
